 本片改编自罗尔德·达尔深受喜爱的故事，讲述富翁亨利·休格（本尼迪克特·康伯巴奇 Benedict Cumberbatch 饰）决心掌握非凡的赌博作弊技巧。

　　香港警察朱福龙（甄子丹 饰）因一次工作失误惨被降级，万般无奈之际又遭未婚妻可儿（周励淇 饰）悔婚，事业爱情的双重打击令他一蹶不振，暴饮暴食六个月后体重猛增到220磅！上司黄警官不忍其继续堕落，委派朱福龙前往日本押送一名犯人，并承诺只要完成任务就可以为他恢复职位。可惜来到日本，倒霉的事件便接连在他身上发生，不仅财物尽失，连犯人也在押送途中逃脱了。幸好得到前香港警察潇洒哥（王晶 饰）的帮助才得以暂时解困，为了完成任务找回犯人，朱福龙与潇洒哥共同行动，不料在查找真相的过程中发现了日本黑帮的惊天阴谋......

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
